Anabelle O’Brien and Bella DeRosa competed at the FCCLA State Competition during April 8 – 11, 2017.  Anabelle competed in the Teach and Train category which focuses on best practices within a classroom environment and how best to implement them.  Annabelle took first place in this category.

Bella DeRosa competed in the Nutrition and Wellness category which focuses on how to plan and implement a nutrition and exercise plan.  Bella took 1st place in this category.  Kudos also to their Advisor, Ida Lange, who coached and encouraged these young ladies.

High School Nation Tour

ACHS was honored to host the High School Nation Tour yesterday!  Select students spent an hour with HSN mentors learning more about careers in the arts.  Then HSN hosted an Art/Music Festival for our entire student body on our football field from 1:00-3:00pm.  The field was filled with a variety of booths, including a music booth where students could sit with mentors and play guitars, etc.  Students also were able to make their own spin-art 78” records, tie-dye socks, screen print t-shirts and hats……  There was live music, and the White T’s showed up as well.  Our school will also receive a $25,000 recording studio from them!

There were many hands-on activities for our students.  See pictures below:
