Athletic News

Last Friday, Varsity Football was victorious over St. Bonaventure, 35-14.  They are moving on to the CIF-SS Division 3 Play-offs tomorrow.  They will travel to Lompoc High School for a 7 PM kick-off.

Last Saturday, Boys’ Water Polo lost to Temecula Valley High School with a score of 10-5 in the CIF-SS Division 6 Quarterfinals.  They had a tremendously successful season, advancing further in Play-offs than ever before!


National Letter of Intent Signing Day

November 8th was a day of celebration for 6 of our student athletes who are committing to play at the collegiate level.  At lunch, they were introduced by their current coaches, and each gave a short speech thanking their families and coaches.  The student athletes who signed Letters of Intent are:

Andrew Lucas – Cal State Northridge, Baseball

Madeline Weight – Cal Poly Pomona, Basketball

Lauren Cowans – Cal State Monterey Bay, Softball

Delaney Diaz – UC Davis, Softball

Chloe Nightingale – Utah State, Softball

Megan Wall – Boston College, Volleyball


Graduation Information

ACHS graduation this year will be on June 15, 2018 at 6:10pm in our James R. Ackerman stadium.

Friday and Saturday, November 10th & 11th, from 12noon – 2:00pm, Jostens will be taking cap & gown, grad announcements, and senior ring orders outside the ACHS main office.  The other option is to order online at Jostens.com.


College Application Day

Students are encouraged to sign-up in room C-4 to attend the CSU Application Workshop to be held in the College and Career Center on November 16th from 2:00 – 4:00PM.


College SPARK

All grade levels of students are welcome to bring their college questions to room C-4 on Mondays & Wednesdays from 3:10 – 4:10pm and/or Tuesdays at lunch.  A counselor is available to answer questions and provide college support.


Incoming Freshmen 2018

* 8th Grade Tour Planning

A meeting was held this week with the team members who are working on the planning of our 8th Grade Tour.  The Tour will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018.  Details as to time, transportation, tours around campus, etc. are in the works!  Last year this was a very successful and helpful tour for the 8th grade students, and we look forward to making this day just as special this year.

Other items discussed in the meeting were preliminary plans for:

* Counselor Visits to Middle Schools to be held the beginning of February 2018

* Parent Information Nights in the ACHS Cafeteria, also to be held in February 2018

* Freshmen Registration Nights at ACHS, to be held Monday, February 26, 2018
