Middle School Tour
This morning we had 600+ middle school students on our campus! They came on school busses from their current schools for a personal tour of our campus. The students were able to see and hear various ACHS performing groups, gather information from teachers who shared about different clubs and programs available here, look inside classrooms, meet and interact with some of our current ASB students and get a feel for the offerings at Adolfo Camarillo High School. The morning contained helpful information as well as fun events for our visitors. We enjoyed showing them their future possibilities.
Second semester is in full swing. Students are settling into their classes, thanks to our counselors who have been working very hard to get them in the correct classes as well as balancing those classes.
A Senior Assembly was held on Wednesday of this week during Homeroom. Seniors were given information about Graduation, Prom, Senior Activities and up-coming Fundraisers to help fund all the senior events that will take place in the next few months. A flyer was also given to each senior with the information that was covered in the assembly.
* Naturally Green Club members were seen earlier this week planting native and drought tolerant plants in front of the main office. Several months ago they cleared the dead grass from that area and put down wood chips. Thank you to the club members for helping to beautify our campus!
* Our Mock Trial teams are diligently meeting after school preparing for their competitions the end of February. Teacher/Advisor Shawn Near and several local attorneys have coached our teams for many years, and the students learn valuable skills that they can use throughout their lives.
* Our Kiwins Club members are preparing for their DCON (District Convention) in April. It is held at the Marriott Woodland Hills each year and the participants spend many hours before hand in preparation.
