Art Department

The final art show of the year features work by AP Studio Artists: Andrew Cchang, Emma Griffis, Jonah Packham, Jessica Gomez, and Isabella Gutierrez.   The Gallery is located next to C-1 and is open from period 1 through lunch.  We hope everyone has a chance to stop by and see what ACHS creatives have made!

Boat Works

Teacher Connie Su’s Chemistry Honors students are in the process of constructing cardboard boats!  Once completed, they will take them up to the pool and have boat competitions.  The students will sit in their boats and see who can get all the way across the pool without their boat sinking!  It is great fun to watch, and a great learning lesson for the students!  These competitions will take place next Wednesday through Friday.

Senior Awards Night

Our Senior Awards Night was held on Monday of this week.  It was an invitation only event for seniors and their families to enjoy an evening of honoring these students who have worked so hard during their 4 years of high school.  Students honored were:  Valedictorians, Distinguished Honors and Honors students, those who earned Military Scholarships and Awards, and those who earned Scholarships and Community Awards.  It was a very memorable evening.

Spanish Posters

Sra. Soberanis’ Spanish classes were assigned a poster project.  They were to choose one word in Spanish that was meaningful to them and then design a poster around that word.  These posters have been decorating the wall outside her classroom this week.  It is awesome to see the student’s creativity, and to see everyone stopping by to peruse them.

Music Department

Congratulations to our Music Director, Daniel Cook.  He was nominated for the Grammy Music Educator of the Year and is now a quarter finalist.  He is one of 188 to be exact, with over 2800 entries.  We are excited to hear more news as the award progresses.

Staff Treat Day

Our wonderful PTSA ladies provided a fun Treat Day today for all staff!  They really do spoil us and we are so thankful for all they do all year long for our students and our staff.
