Title IX

The Oxnard Union High School District affirms its commitment to equality of opportunity for all individuals. This commitment requires that no discrimination shall occur regarding admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, any program and activity on the basis of age, race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, citizenship, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, medical condition, religion, or marital status.

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Complaints alleging noncompliance with Title IX can be filed by utilizing the Oxnard Union High School District Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP) as identified in California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Sections 4600 et. seq. and Oxnard Union High School District Policy. Title IX complaints should be directed to the Title IX Coordinator.

A complaint must ordinarily be filed within 180 days of the last act of discrimination. If your complaint involves matters that occurred longer ago than this and you are requesting a waiver, you will be asked to show good cause why you did not file your complaint within the 180-day period.

REPORTING DISCRIMINATION, HARASSMENT, OR HAZING AT HIGH SCHOOL SPORTING EVENTS

Our district is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all high school athletic events. California law requires school districts that participate in CIF athletics to make the California Department of Education (CDE) Incident Report Form available so students, families, staff, and community members can report incidents of racial discrimination, harassment, or hazing that occur at high school sporting events.

PARTICIPATION CENSUS

The CIF Participation Census collects data on boys' and girls' athletic participation, as required by CIF bylaw and California Education Code 221.9. The 2025-26 census will be collected March 2 – April 3 of every year.

Why do we collect this data? Our district collects Title IX participation data to help ensure all students have equal access to athletic opportunities and to comply with federal and state reporting requirements.
