Weekly Update – September 7, 2018

District Kick-Off

The district Kick-Off event on August 27th was held at Pacifica High School this year.  The ACHS Music Department’s Drumline was invited to provide music outside the venue as staff arrived.  We are so proud of our students who did an awesome job!  Our Music Director, Daniel Cook and teacher Cameron Guerrero were there to direct the students.  They graciously posed for me when they were finished.  😊

Welcome Back/Neon Dance

Our ASB students hosted the annual Welcome Back/Neon Dance last Friday night after the football game.  It was held in the gym, and students had a great time.

Counseling Corner

ACHS Counselors are working diligently to balance classes and provide students with the classes they need to continue on their path towards graduation.

Principal Chats

Dr. Stephenson held her annual beginning of the school year “Principal Chats” with all students on Thursday, September 6th.  Each grade level was invited to the Gym with Period 1 hosting Freshmen, Period 2 hosting Sophomores, Period 3 hosting Juniors and Period 4 hosting Seniors.  After students checked in with their teachers, they made their way to the Gym. There, the students were welcomed to a new school year, they were reminded of school rules, the Freshmen class was introduced to the Administration Team, and the Senior class was given a Senior Contract, which was discussed during their chat.

PTSA Sponsored Luncheon

Our PTSA angels hosted a luncheon for our entire staff on Monday, August 27th.  It was super enjoyable to all be together visiting and eating to a fried chicken, picnic theme.   We appreciate our PTSA volunteers who spent so much time and energy planning, setting up and taking down of all the decorations and food.  We came and enjoyed, and it’s all because of our faithful PTSA volunteers.  WE LOVE THEM!!
