Professional Development Afternoon

On Wednesday we had a Minimum Day schedule for students.  In the afternoon our entire staff was able to listen to speaker Susan Isaacs from Safe and Civil Schools.   Her presentation was on “Creating and Maintaining Safe, Civil and Productive Schools.”   It was an interactive, engaging and useful afternoon.

Athletics

Congratulations to Varsity Girls’ Tennis for their performances in the Coastal Canyon Individuals Tennis Tournament.  Molly Honnef and Kayli Govil are Doubles Champions for the Coastal Canyon League. Talia Lieb and Hanna Dever were the Doubles Runner-ups.  Both teams will move on to CIF-SS Individuals Tournament in November.

Red Ribbon Week

To celebrate Red Ribbon Week and being drug free, many activities were planned.  Our ASB students posted sayings around campus and they also prepared a drug-free poster for students to sign their commitment to be drug-free.

Camarillo High School student-athletes spent lunchtime on Wednesday at nearby Tierra Linda Elementary School to help spread the message of being drug free and encourage them to make smart choices.  It was fun for the elementary students to get autographs and take pictures with the athletes.  The athletes enjoyed the spotlight and communicating this year’s theme of “Life is Your Journey. Travel Drug Free.”
