ACHS Weekly Update – November 30, 2018

WASC News

Our WASC Team visit will be next spring and as such, we have many preparations underway currently.  This week the lead person on the 6-person Visiting Team came to our campus for a preview.  He was able to meet with members of our administration, some teachers, and some ASB students.  He was given a tour of the campus and good discussions were held about logistical questions before the spring visit.  It was a productive and useful visit.

Incoming Freshmen Fall 2019

Our administrative team and our counselors are already preparing for our new freshman class in the fall.  Meetings with middle school administrators are happening next week to share planning and information.

Parent Square

The new software “Parent Square” is a very useful tool in communicating with parents, students and staff.  A representative from their company came out to ACHS and presented a training session this week for our staff.  This tool will let us send text messages, phone messages and emails to share important information to our community about upcoming events, school closures, announcements, etc.  Teachers can use this tool to send information about classes to parents and students.  We are excited to use this new form of communication.
